Status of my life

I’ve never taken a ceramics class in my life, I’ve done a few projects with clay- but never really did anything special.

SO since I attend the New York State College of Ceramics at AU, I figured that this would be the best time to try out the wheel.

Turns out……

I suck. Horribly. It’s almost pathetic watching me because I have so much fun but make the worst pieces.

So, in order to ace my wheel studio, I have now dedicated my life to my cute lil wheel.

If you are looking for me, you will find me in Kala Stein’s wheel studio in the back corner :)

I just

cast a brain (handmade in clay by me) in electric blue glass.

So fucking cool. I can’t wait to get it out of the annealer, cold work it, and turn it in for my talisman project.

I’ll start photographing my work soon :D

That awkward moment when you attend the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University

and you’re a painter.

Thank god for my Intro to Wheel studio next semester or I’d really feel like a NYSCC failure.

I got to do my first glass cast today.

I didn’t do amazingly well or anything, but the feeling of hot air coming from a 2200 degree furnace blasting in your face and knowing that you’re carrying disgustingly hot molten glass in a hot, heavy iron ladle is such an adrenaline rush.

I love it already.
